Regular Meeting
- Approval of Minutes
Motion to approve the minutes of June 13, 2006 by Mr. Zawacki, seconded by Ms. Siebert, passing unanimously.
- Kaiser Battistone spill incident
- Friday, July 7, 2006 Kaiser-Battistone septage truck caused a spill from a clogged bar screen and overflowed septage onto driveway and into the stream. The driver was inside the truck and not outside as is required by the plant. The driver then attempted to leave the area without reporting the spill. After discussion with Bill Hall,
- Motion to suspend Kaiser-Battistone for one week from the incident and the driver of the truck would be suspended an additional week. Also, Kaiser-Battistone would pay for cleanup by Ms. Siebert, Mr. Caldwell, Mr. Hill, Mr. Briody and Mr. Zawacki abstained. Vote passed.
- Bryon Avenue
- The Authority discussed different methods of discharging waste from the proposed Bryon Avenue seven-lot subdivision. No decision was made.
- Equalization tank
- Pumping to the Greenfield line by gravity
- Possible odor of holding tank
- Rates for 2006-2007
- After review of the financial statements, it was agreed by the Authority to maintain the existing rates.
Motion to maintain existing rates as follows by Mr. Briody, second by Mr. Zawacki, passing unanimously.

- Metcalf & Eddy Report
- Mr. Pearson sent Estimate No.8 Invoice from Kovacs Construction Corp. ($75,240.20) for payment.
- Copps Hill: CL&P has provided permanent electrical service to the Copps Hill pump station has been running independent as of 6/29/06. Water service has been provided and most of the re-grading/restoration of the berm has been completed. Drainage modifications to Copps Hill discussed. Kovacs Construction has completed the drainage modifications, which they were requested to do on a time and materials basis.
- South Street WWTF Influent pump station. Siltation and erosion controls have been put in place. A temporary septage-hauling road has been constructed. Temporary excavation support is in place and the precast wet well sections have been installed on the concrete pad.
- Aquarion Report
- Mr. O’Brien presented the monthly report.
- Other Business
- Litigation was discussed. The Authority is waiting for a reply from the Town’s attorney on 21 Ramapoo Road.
