Other Attendees:
1) Approval of Minutes
a) Minutes from the meetings of August 13, 2002 were presented and approved by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Zawacki and passing, Mr. Briody abstained.
2) New Business
a) Mr. Lauria read a letter from Mr. Caldwell stating he is resigning from the WPCA.
b) Grease Trap.
1. Mr. Briggs presented and discussed the new Foodservice Establishment Grease Ordinance.
c) High School Pulper.
1. Mr. Briggs stated the "pulper" at the High School has been eliminated.
d) 632 Danbury Road
1. Mr. Gregory George presented a "Power of Attorney" Affidavit for George Mulvaney.
2. Mr. George presented two permits which stated: "To reinstate original credits due to your reduction made in error" for 632 and 626 Danbury Road. The committee stated Mr. Mulvaney would have to represent himself for further consideration.
e) Force Main and Pump Station Upgrade
1. Mr. Pearson, Metcalf and Eddy gave a detailed report on Force Main progress.
2. Mr. Pearson recommended the WPCA accept the Middle School Pump Station as of August 26, 2002.
3. Paving allowance increase discussed. Committee stated the construction contract is not a guarantee and the risk is with the contractor for unscheduled increases.
4. Mr. Pearson presented proposed Agreements for signature:
(i) Engineering services related to the design of modifications to the flow equalization system at the Route 7 Treatment Plant.
(ii) Engineering services in connection with the design of the Rehabilitation of the Quail Ridge, Copps Hill, Route 7, and the South Street WWTP pump stations.
5. Discussed blockage at Quail Ridge.
3) OMI Report
a) Discussed new pump station responsibilities. OMI will keep track of time and material and submit to WPCA on a monthly basis.
b) Discussed Fox Hill pump station. Stated the same rules of ownership would apply as other pump stations owned and operated by the WPCA. Ownership of pump station from point of pump station to water treatment facility.
4) Other Business
a) Next meeting October 15, 2002 at Town Hall, 400 Main Street, Lower Level conference room.
5) Adjournment
a) Motion to adjourn made by Mr. Briody at 9:40 p.m., seconded by Mr. Hill. Passed unanimously.
