Department of Public Services responsibilities include:
Highway Department -- provides routine repair and maintenance on all Town roads, snow and ice control during the winter months, the removal of accumulated winter sand by the Department's sweeping operations plus the cleaning and repairing of drainage systems and structures.
Transfer Station -- the station accepts, at a fee, solid waste, brush / leaves and recyclables.
Recycling Center -- the center accepts, free of charge, only materials that may be recycled.
Questions about State Roads -- click on this link for a list of State Roads -- call the State Department of Transportation (DOT) at (203) 797-4157 for questions or repair requests. The DOT is responsible for the maintenance of these roads and sidewalks as well as trees in their right-of-way.
