Did you know that every year 21 billion pounds of textiles are thrown away in the United States?  And did you also know that 45% of those textiles can be reused, 30% can be turned into wiping cloths, and 20% can be recycled into new products?
In an effort to be part of the solution, Ridgefield partnered with Bay State Textiles in July 2014 and textile recycling bins became part of the landscape at the Ridgefield Recycling Center.
Not only will Ridgefield be helping Mother Nature, but Bay State Textiles offers a rebate on what is collected thereby generating a new revenue stream!
So before you throw out any old footwear, clothing, towels and linens, please visit  for a list of the many acceptable items.
